The Parenting Resource Center and Welcome Center have partnered up to bring FreePhone MN BACK to Austin on November 2nd. FreePhone MN offers a free wireless phone to low-income assistance clients. There is NO contract, NO activation fee, NO monthly charge and up to 250 minutes of FREE airtime each and every month. Participants need to bring: 1) A government issued picture ID showing current Minnesota residential address. 2) Proof of the low-income assistance program you are on (like an EBT Card, SSI Benefit Statement, Medicaid card, etc.) 3) If your picture ID does not show your current address, bring a document that does. The United Way of Mower County is hosting a community outerwear drive for kids. Applicants can register at the Welcome Center starting October 8, 2012. Distribution will take place on Monday October 29, 2012 from 12 - 6pm ONLY. Any questions about the coat drive or distribution of coats should be directed to United Way of Mower County at 437-2313. The Welcome Center will host a Voter Registration Event on Wednesday, October 10 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Volunteers will be present to assist individuals in completing the voter registration application for the November 6th election. October 16 is the deadline for registration prior to the election. After the deadline, individuals will be able to register on Election Day at their polling location.
