Personal Care Shelf

The Welcome Center is very proud of its ability to provide assistance to those in need by supplying them with basic hygiene and self-care items.

People often take for granted such basic things, like soap and shampoo, and don’t realize just how necessary these items are to not only our health, but to our well being, as well. Individuals faced with an emergency situation are welcome to utilize the shelf twice per lifetime.

Shelf Hours

  • Monday 3pm - 6pm
  • Wednesday 9am - 12pm
  • Friday 9am - 12pm

Fees

  • FREE - no cost to eligible clients.

Eligibility

  • Individuals and families in emergency situations.
  • Any picture ID and a piece of mail with current address are required to receive assistance. Only two lifetime visits available.

How YOU Can Help:

Monetary and product donations to the Personal Care Shelf are always appreciated. Items that can be donated include: shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrushes (adult and child), deodorant, mouthwash, brush/combs, soap, body wash, laundry & dish soap, toilet paper, Kleenex, feminine hygiene items, shaving cream, razors, lotion, baby ointments, baby lotion, baby shampoo and baby wipes. Donations to the Welcome Center may be tax deductible. Consult with your tax preparer for more information.

The Welcome Center of Austin announces that it has been certified in accountability and awarded the Charities Review Council “Meets All Standards” Seal. The Certification and Seal indicate that the Welcome Center meets all twenty-seven of the Council’s Accountability Standards. More
