Advocacy & Client Services connects clients with necessary community resources to address medical, social, community, legal, financial, educational, and other needs. Services and referrals include a brief assessment of immediate needs, followed by referral and assistance in obtaining the resources to meet them. When the needs identified are not provided by the Welcome Center, referrals to other organizations are provided. Areas of need reported by clients this past year included employment, housing, medical, legal assistance, public benefits, immigration, education, counseling, interpretations, translations, transitional housing and financial assistance.
Through this positive intervention we seek to empower individuals from under-served and under-represented populations living in poverty, to build assets, promote resiliency, develop self respect and independence, and become self-sufficient.
